Spotlight: a chat-first widget mode in liquid glass

A new widget display mode: no launcher bubble — just a floating “Ask anything” pill that opens straight into a conversation, in a frosted-glass window tinted by your brand color.

Your widget now has a second personality. Spotlight replaces the launcher bubble with a floating “Ask anything” composer pill at the bottom of the page. Visitors type right into it, press Enter, and land inside a live conversation — their question already sent, the answer already streaming. No home screen, no menus, no second step.

And it looks the part: the Spotlight window is liquid glass — a frosted, translucent card tinted by your primary color, with replies as clean text on the glass instead of chat bubbles. Flip it on under Widget → Content; Classic stays the default and nothing changes until you switch.

One pill, straight into a conversation

Classic mode is built for browsing — a launcher bubble that opens a home screen with articles, news, and conversation history. Spotlight is built for asking. The pill sits bottom-center on your page, the visitor types their question into it, and the window opens already mid-conversation with that question as the first message. A back chevron keeps past conversations one tap away, and an expand toggle grows the compact card into a full working window — but there's nothing between a visitor and their answer.

Dressed in liquid glass

Spotlight windows don't use the Classic theme at all — they're frosted glass. Your primary color tints the whole card with a soft gradient, agent replies render as plain text on the glass instead of bubbles, and the visitor's messages, quick replies, and buttons share one translucent material. The Light and Dark setting styles the on-page pill, so it sits naturally on your site whichever way your pages lean.

Turn it on

Head to Widget → Content in your dashboard and pick a mode at the top: Classic or Spotlight. The preview switches instantly so you can try both before saving. Everything else keeps working the same underneath — same agent, same knowledge, same inbox, same escalation rules — and your inline embeds and chat page are untouched.

Default unchanged
Every widget stays on Classic until you choose otherwise. Spotlight fits best when most visitors come with a question — product pages, pricing pages, stores — and Classic remains the right call when you want the full home screen with help articles and news up front.
